Getting started

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis before booking?

No. I diagnose ADHD myself as part of the initial evaluation. If you've already been diagnosed, or you have a psychological or neuropsychological testing report, I'm glad to review it and pick up from there.

How soon can I be seen?

You can see current openings and book directly on the online booking page.

What happens at the first visit?

It's a 60-minute video evaluation. We go through your symptoms, history, and goals, review any prior diagnosis or testing, and leave with a plan.

Where do I need to be during my appointment?

You need to be physically located in New York or Florida, where I'm licensed, at the time of each video visit. Many patients split time between the two states, and care can continue in either one.

Do you see teenagers or children?

No. My practice is for adults 18 and older.

ADHD diagnosis & medication

Can a nurse practitioner diagnose ADHD and prescribe ADHD medication in New York?

Yes. In New York, psychiatric nurse practitioners can evaluate and diagnose ADHD and prescribe ADHD medication, including stimulants and other controlled medications, when it's clinically appropriate. I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed in New York and Florida.

Do you prescribe stimulants like Adderall or Vyvanse?

Yes, when they're a good fit. I prescribe stimulant medications and other controlled medications, as well as non-stimulant options. The choice depends on your history, your health, and what you need medication to do for you. No medication is prescribed without an evaluation first.

Can ADHD medication be prescribed by telehealth?

Yes. I evaluate and treat patients by video and send prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy, following current federal and New York State rules for controlled medications.

How often are follow-up visits?

Most patients are seen monthly once treatment is underway. Early on, while we're finding the right medication and dose, we may check in more often.

Will I definitely get medication?

Not automatically. If medication makes sense for you, we'll talk through options and decide together. If something other than ADHD is driving your symptoms, I'll tell you and recommend what will actually help.

Cost & insurance

How much does a visit cost?

The initial evaluation (60 minutes) is $300, and follow-up visits (30 minutes) are $300. Established patients pay their previously agreed-upon rate.

Do you take insurance?

I'm out-of-network with insurance plans. You pay $300 per visit, and after each appointment a superbill is available in your patient portal to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. How much comes back depends on your plan.

What's a superbill?

An itemized receipt with the codes your insurer needs to process an out-of-network claim. It's available in your patient portal after each visit. How reimbursement works.
